In July 2019 he became active in the community when Henry County closed Cochran Park, the plan was to remove baseball fields and replace them with Pickleball courts. Robert and a team of passionate coaches and community members fought to have the county change that decision. They demanded that county repair and reopen the park with baseball fields for the kids to have a park in their community. They were successful in getting Cochran Park reopened and proud to report that kids of all ages are playing currently playing baseball in that park. He also helped get repairs made at the following parks Hidden Valley, Richard Craig, Mickie D. Cochran and Sandy Ridge BMX.
